SIZING A BIKE Making available a bike that fits you perfectly is HMB'S ultimate philosophy. It's tough to be ADVENTURIOUS or radical when you're uncomfortable, so we offer a full range of frame sizes to accommodate male and female riders from 4'10" to 6'6". Even if you are the same height as another rider, it doesn't mean your bike will be configured the same way. People vary in leg and torso proportions, and HMB'S range of some 60 plus bikes of varying geometry, frame sizes, and component options let you dial-in a comfortable fit, even if you have a gorilla's reach or flamingo legs. Many tours come with bikes so check out your best frame size options and advise us so we have your bike ready and wheels ready to spin.

HOW TO MEASURE-UP To determine the correct frame, stem, and crank size for your body proportions, calculate your inseam (clearance) and your arm length (reach) using the formulas below. Clearance dictates the appropriate frame size and crank length. Reach indicates which stem length and frame size will be the most comfortable. The ideal frame is the smallest one which will fit your measurements. A smaller frame weighs less and provides the most responsive ride proportionate to body size.
1. To Measure Clearance Stand upright, with cycling shoes on, feet 6 inches apart. Hold a book loosely in your crotch so the book's spine is parallel to the floor. Measure the distance from the top edge of the book to the floor to determine your inseam length.
2. To Measure Reach Grasp a pen upright in your closed fist and hold your arm straight out to the side parallel to the ground. Measure the distance from the pen to the front indentation of your shoulder joint to determine your arm length.
